Download publicationThis guidance book is one part of the resource pack to be used for the Further Literacy Support (FLS) programme for Year 5. This is a 12-week intervention programme planned for teachers and teaching assistants working in partnership to raise attainment of children who require literacy support. It comprises three modules each with key writing objectives, and is designed to run in addition to the literacy hour.
This book provides important support for teachers in the implementation of this programme.
The main emphasis of this programme is on helping children transfer what they are learning within their FLS group to their independent reading and writing.
