This handbook provides information for schools, school improvement partners (SIPs) and local authorities (LAs) about the core elements of the Improving Schools Programme (ISP). It shares the learning from the ISP and explains what works in supported school improvement, and why. It includes the materials used in the ISP as well as case studies of the ISP programme in action. The aim is that these ISP materials contribute to the school improvement work of LAs and schools, and can be used as a practical guide to the use of school improvement processes for all schools and to the Improving Schools Programme.
