Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre 2009

The Globe's exciting and innovative production of Romeo and Juliet played to over 10,000 enraptured pupils and invited guests in March 2009.

Shakespeare's story of the doomed teenage lovers is captured in audio files which can be streamed, or downloaded as MP3 files by teachers and used as a classroom resource for teaching the play at KS3, 4 and 5. To access these files, follow the links on the top right of this page.

In addition to the play there are interviews with the director, Bill Buckhurst, and the actors playing Romeo, Juliet, the nurse and the friar. They provide insights into the play's themes, characters and language which will further extend pupils' thinking about the play.
