Professional development materials for participants to gain an understanding of transition as a process of change, explore the key components of a framework for supporting children, consider whole-school systems to support transition, consider a framework for preparing children for the social and emotional aspects of transition through a programme of activities, be familiar with good practice in working with partners to ensure a smooth transition and be in a position to identify and plan to meet the needs of individuals who may be ‘at risk'.
