Functional Skills Support Programme (FSSP)
Chapters
- 1 Functional Skills Support Programme (FSSP)
- 2 CPD offer
- 3 Pilots and dates
The National Strategies and the Learning and Skills Information Service (LSIS) have joint responsibility for delivering training and support for the development of functional skills. The National Strategies provide materials and support for schools, while LSIS provide materials and support for diploma consortia and centres other than schools.
In 2007–8, four days of training were provided for new pilot centres. These were followed in 2008–9 by a more flexible offer tailored to the needs of different centres. This flexibility will be further enhanced in 2009–10 with a range of e-learning modules that centres can access as appropriate. This offer will include introductory materials for centres new to functional skills, materials to support the development of effective pedagogy for functional skills and to support the leadership and management.
