    Information on day 1 of the Improving reading continuous professional development theme, which is aimed specifically at schools that wish to address the teaching of reading across the school.
  • Improving Writing: Day 1

    CPD theme aimed specifically at schools that wish to address the teaching of writing, particularly guided writing across the school. The day 1 materials are designed to allow the tailoring of the materials to cover Year 1, Year 3 and Year 5 or to combine these age ranges.     Introduction to Support for Writing materials, using steps in learning, pupil writing targets, and text types guidance. Also included are links to a range of documents.
  • Pupil writing targets

    Pupil Writing Targets focus on high value strands of objectives that make the greatest difference to improving writing attainment. They support teachers who have identified specific gaps in learning, using information from day to day and periodic assessment practices, to teach specific writing skills in guided sessions.
  • Support for writing: Day 3

    Introduction to the Support for writing CPD outline for schools that wish to improve rates of pupil progress in writing.

    Session 2

    Details of Session 3 of the Support for writing CPD. Includes a list of resources, followed by an overview of SfW text types guidance and activities.

    Session 4

    Details of Session 4 of the Support for writing CPD. Includes a list of resources and activities, leading to collaboratively planning a CPD.
