Training materials to support consultants in preparing targeted and focused training to meet the needs of Year 5 teachers. A basic outline of sessions is listed to support logic planning of the training. Furthermore it gives some tips on pre-course requirements that are needed to deliver training successfully. Guidance on the Further Literacy Support (FLS) programme, a highly effective literacy intervention programme to be used mainly for Key Stage 2 (upper half). Ideally it should be used early enough to enable pupils both to catch up and to consolidate their accelerated progress so that they move into Year 6, working at the expected level for their age group. Teachers should read this document to discern if they would like to implement the programme in their school and for useful hints about how it should be used in class.
