Aims of the science strand

Chapters

  • 1 Aims of the science strand

Key Stage 3 is an important phase in the development of pupils' understanding of science. They study more science and apply this and what they studied at Key Stage 2 to a wider range of situations and crucially begin to engage with the abstract ideas that lie at the heart of science.

The focus of the Strategy is on improving pupils' enjoyment and understanding of science and raising attainment through improved teaching and learning.
