Science

A secondary science pupil learning science by conducting an experiment.

New How Science Works (HSW) resources to support both the teaching of HSW and the professional development of teachers. HSW includes explanations, arguments and decision making skills as well as practical and enquiry skills and provides a wonderful opportunity to help pupils become critical and creative thinkers and flexible problem-solvers. It is an integral part of science teaching and helps to challenge the view that scientists always follow a fixed 'set of steps': it is not a 'bolt-on', mechanical, or recipe-following activity.
