    • Romeo and Juliet at the Globe Theatre 2009

      The Globe's exciting and innovative production of Romeo and Juliet played to over 10,000 enraptured pupils and invited guests in March 2009 and is captured in audio files which can be streamed, or downloaded as MP3 files by teachers and used as a classroom resource. In addition to the play, there are interviews with the director, and some of the actors.

  • Views from the balcony: Ways of playing Romeo and Juliet - Shakespeare study for Key Stages 3 and 4

    A set of resources developed from footage of a rehearsal of Act 2 Scene 2 of Romeo and Juliet directed by Neil Bartlett for the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC) which can be used at either Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4. The resources consist of ten units, with a range of lesson plans, worksheets and linked video clips, providing opportunities for a variety of approaches to the play, through drama activities, close reading tasks, written responses, and speaking and listening contexts.

    Conversation of pupils and teacher where they reflect on their introduction to Shakespeare in Year 7 (Much Ado about Nothing) and their fears about the setting and language. Positive judgments are made about the experience.
